SOME REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD PERSIST IN PRAYER

1. Because prayer is the means of receiving God’s grace.

2. Because God is still working out His answer to your prayer.

3. Because God is still preparing you to receive His answer.

4. Because God wants to develop your faith in Him.

5. Because your persistence demonstrates your faith in God.

6. Because your persistence demonstrates your sincerity.

WHEN SHOULD YOU STOP PRAYING?

1. When you receive God’s answer to you prayer.

2. When you realize that what you are asking is not His will.

3. When God assures you that His answer is on the way.

A Time with God

If you love someone, you will want to spend time with someone. That is how it is with God. If you love God, you should try to spend time with Him. God loves you and loves to spend time with you each day! How do we spend time with God? Well, how do you spend time with someone you love. You listen to them; you do things with them; you talk with them; you try to understand what is important with them. So, too, is spending time with God. Each and every day it is a great idea to set aside time to talk with God. You can pray to God; you can tell Him you love Him; you can also be still and listen in your heart for God to speak with you. When you read God’s Word, you can ask God to speak with you and communicate to you His truths through the Bible. It is good to set aside some uninterrupted time each day to spend time with God. In addition, ask God to be with you as you go through your day. You can talk with Him as you go throughout your day. Jesus promised us as Christians that He would never leave us or forsake us, so Christ will be with you through the power of the Holy Spirit as you go throughout your life. The cost of a critical attitude

“Miriam began to tralk against Moses… and the Lord heard this.” Numbers 12:1-2

In the story God got a bit serious on Moses’ sister Miriam. Why? Because she criticized her brother Moses. You think your critical attitude is no big deal? It is to God. Maybe you’ve grown up in a family where everyone’s’ getting at each other all the time. You can’t enjoy the good things in life because all you’ve known to do is nit-pick, nag and jump to conclusions (usually negative ones). You need to know that Jesus has shown us much better way of life. Here’s a quick definition of a critical attitude: focusing on somebody’s faults but ignoring their good points. If you look closely enough at anybody (except Jesus!) you’ll find faults. But, are they really faults- or do you just misunderstand them?

Do you walk through life saying, ‘That’s not fair!’ Or, ‘I wouldn’t do it that way!’? You’re never going to be happy looking at the world like that. Jesus used a really funny image when he was talking to people who were always being critical, ‘…first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly…’ (Luke 6:42 NIV) Do you get it – who are you to pick faults, Mister or Miss Perfect? So what’s the right way to act then? Simple, if you notice an issue, and you think maybe you can help, first pray about it and then sensitively raise it with the person involved. Open your conversation by saying, ‘Can we talk about this, I think I might be able to help.’

Rediscovering Your Passion

Revelation 2:4 “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you may have left your first love.

Revelation 3:15-16 I know your works that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my Mouth.”

As you take moment to digest these two scriptures, what are some of the things that come to your mind?

How do you see your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in light of these two scriptures?

What is it in a person’s life that could cause them to lose their first love or become lukewarm after being filled with zeal and a passion for the Lord and His kingdom?

What was it that causes a person once burned with a fervent intensity that produced a hot fire within their souls and spirits are ignited others with this same level of fervency to go out?

Passion defined: The energy of our soul; “Intense emotion compelling action. A strong devotion to some object, activity, or concept. Shared meaning: passion, fervor, ardor, enthusiasm and zeal.

Your Use Of God’s Gift

The Biblical philosophy for using God’s gift, whether it be our time, talents, or possessions, is well stated in these two verses.

a. "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35

Your Walk In the Spirit

The biggest problem most of Go’ds children face is they often find themselves doing things they know are wrong while falling to the things they know are right.. Thus, they do not please God and that leads to frustration. We all had this experience. It is almost as though we have a split personality. We are at war inside - one part loves to rebel and yet there is the new nature that wants to obey God. Do not be discouraged: God has a wonderful solution to this problem and it is found in His word.

What shall we do to experience the Spirit-controlled life?

Confess means to "agree with". We must agree with God about the sinfulness of our sins

Jesus and Me

Busy life! Wow! That’s what everyone tells you when you ask them how their lives are going.
I even said those words many times and said it many many many times before . Until one day I realized that being too busy makes life so dull. Those were the times when all things were packed into my head. Busy thinking about what’s next after these things. How is my work done? Are people appreciating my works? Do I look better than yesterday? Am I growing in my field? Am I earning money or losing money? How’s my friends out there? Am I missing a movie? What to wear? What to eat? How’s my first project? My next task? Oh my! Not so busy!!! I even forgot there is Sunday!

Enough of these things! I’m tired.

Being busy is normal to us who are working or attending some activities in life. Being busy is not the problem, too busy is the big problem. Its when we forgot that aside from the material needs, social needs, and other personal needs, we have to fill something in us that these things cannot satisfy; the spiritual need.

Enough of being busy! Today, iti is JESUS and me.
